Who Is Lobo in Supergirl (2026)?

Making his first appearance in Omega Men #3 in June 1983, Lobo is an extremely unhinged bounty hunter who is ruthless and psychotic. He is undoubtedly one of the coolest characters in DC and has an insane origin story. Lobo belongs to the planet Czarina, and when he was born, his evil was so obvious that the nurse who birthed him went insane after he chewed off four of her fingers. This was the first case of mental illness on this planet in 10 millennia. Lobo was always aware that he was special, and his fascination with homicide drove him to create swarms of scorpion-like creatures. He released the creatures on his people, effectively killing off every single one of them, with him being the last surviving member of his species. After this, he became an intergalactic bounty hunter, and since he is practically immortal, he became the most feared of them all in the DC universe. In the context of Superman and Supergirl, Lobo has not been much of a major antagonist in their cases, but has caused both of them a fair share of trouble. Lobo was the one who helped Brainiac capture Superman, but also the one who freed Superman from captivity. Superman has fought Lobo on multiple occasions, but they have never had a personal enmity towards each other. However, when we talk about Supergirl, she once killed Lobo temporarily with a single punch when he came to Earth to kill Shay Veritas, a doctor who helped Supergirl on multiple occasions. This moment was a big one in the comic book since Lobo has never been known to die ever since his appearance.

Jason Momoa Will Appear as Lobo in Supergirl

Momoa has previously showcased his interest in playing Lobo. He also confirmed in an interview with Fandango that he has been a fan of Lobo since he was just a child. Momoa shared that he used to collect comic books and Lobo was his favorite character, and if he got the chance, he would play Lobo in the blink of an eye. However, his dream has now come true since James Gunn or DCU has called Jason Momoa, and he has been cast as Lobo and is set to appear for the first time in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. He made this revelation to his fans with an Instagram post where he posted the above-mentioned quote along with the caption “They Called,” confirming his appearance as Lobo. So, do you guys think Jason Momoa will be able to pull off playing Lobo in live-action? Let’s wait till June 26, 2026, for Supergirl’s release to find out. Name Email ID
