Roger Pirates Discovers Baby Shanks Inside a Treasure Chest
We don’t have to watch fan animations or fan arts anymore, as Oda finally unveils the panel where Roger Pirates found a baby Shanks inside a treasure in One Piece chapter 1166. Thanks to his wings, Rayleigh and Gaban, Roger was safely rescued from the God Valley island. The pirate king was severely injured and in recuperation, but his crewmates wanted their captain to unbox the treasure they stole from the Celestial Dragons. As expected, Roger was amazed and delighted by the treasure trove his crewmates had obtained. Shortly after, the pirate king started to hear baby noises all of a sudden coming from one of the treasure chests. Bewildered by the sound, Roger opened up the treasure chest only to find baby Shanks inside it. Everyone was surprised to see a baby inside a treasure chest, and Oda has successfully recreated the panel 1:1, just like what we saw in the draft in the past. One thing you might have noticed is that Roger had his iconic mustache in the draft earlier. However, Oda decided to change it here, as Roger still has a long way to go to grow his mustache after the God Valley incident. The events that led to baby Shanks ending up in a treasure chest are simply mind-blowing. At first, he was rescued by Monkey D. Dragon (Luffy’s father). Then Dragon lost the baby, and Shanks, on his own, climbed into a treasure chest when Captain John used his Jiki Jiki no Mi powers.
