How to Get Kyurem in Pokemon GO
There are three different ways to get a Kyurem in Pokemon GO. Here’s a list of them: Other than the regular Kyurem, there are two forms of Fused Kyurem available in Pokemon GO. Unfortunately, there is no information on when they’ll return in the 5-star raids. Last time they were seen was during the Pokemon GO Tour Unova Event.
Fusing Kyurem with Reshiram and Zekrom in Pokemon GO
Players can fuse a regular Kyurem with Reshiram to get a White Kyurem, and with Zekrom to get a Black Kyurem in Pokemon GO. But to do so, you need Fusion Energy. Fusion Energy can be obtained by defeating the Fused version of Kyurem in the raids. Defeating Black Kyurem in raids will yield Volt Fusion Energy, and White Kyurem in raids will yield Blaze Fusion Energy. You cannot encounter them in raids. The only way to get them is by fusing Kyurem with Reshiram and Zekrom. To get a Black Kyurem, you need 1000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy, a Kyurem, and Zekrom. Similarly, to get a White Kyurem, you need 1000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy, a Kyurem, and Reshiram. Once you have all the resources, you can simply select the Kyurem you want to fuse, click on the White Kyurem or Black Kyurem option below, and select your choice of Reshiram and Zekrom you want to fuse. You can defuse them anytime you want, and it doesn’t require any resources. We recommend fusing a Kyurem with the move Glaciate* to get the legacy moves on your Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, and utilise their Adventure Effects. The Adventure Effects for the two fusions are as follows:
Ice Burn of White Kyurem: Slows down the aim ring when catching Pokemon for 10 minutes, making the Pokemon easier to catch. Freeze Shock of Black Kyurem: Locks and freezes the Pokemon you’re catching, preventing it from moving for 10 minutes. This makes the Pokemon easier to catch.
Can Shiny Kyurem Be Found in Pokemon GO?
Yes, Kyurem can be shiny in Pokemon GO. Like other Legendaries, Kyurem has a base shiny rate of 1 in 20. This means you can encounter one shiny for every 20 Kyurem raids. The shiny rate is significantly lower compared to any wild Pokemon spawn and spotlight hour spawns. Additionally, you can fuse your shiny Kyurem to get a Shiny Black Kyurem or a Shiny Black Kyurem. Don’t worry, as you don’t need a shiny Zekrom or Reshiram in this case.
Where is Kyurem Ranked in Pokemon GO Meta?
While the Fused Kyurem is one of the best attackers in Pokemon GO, the normal Kyurem isn’t that great in the Meta. Here’s a complete analysis of Kyurem in the current Pokemon GO meta:
Raid Attacker: Kyurem is one of the worst Raid Attackers due to its low defense and attack. There are a lot of better options for raids, such as Mega Evolutions, Shadow Pokemon, and more. Gym Defender: As a Legendary Pokemon, Kyurem cannot defend Gyms. Dragon Type Attacker: Kyurem ranks in the top 40 Dragon-type attackers with Dragon Breath and Draco Meteor as its moveset. Pokemon like Eternatus, Mega Rayquaza, Mega Salamance, and Dialga are better options. Ice Type Attacker: Kyurem’s ranking increases slightly when compared to other Ice-type attackers. With Glaciate*, you can deal a lot of ice damage, but it’s a legacy move and difficult to obtain. On the other side, you might want to use its fused form, White and Black Kyurem, as they are the best Ice-type attackers. Ultra League: Ultra League requires at least 2500 CP, and Kyurem, being a legendary Pokemon, its stats will get lower with its level and CP, making it a bad choice. On paper, it has a decent ranking of top 45, but practically doesn’t even come close to some of the top meta Pokemon in the league. Master League: Similar to the Raid Attackers, you’d want to use Pokemon with Max stats in Master League. Kyurem isn’t a great option, given that Black and White Kyurem overshadows it, alongside top Pokemon like Dialga, Palkia, and Zacian.
That said, Kyurem is a decent Pokemon to have in Pokemon GO. However, it shines the most when you fuse it with Zekrom or Reshiram. This sums up our Kyurem Guide in Pokemon GO. Did you get any shiny Kyurem? Let us know in the comments. Name Email ID
