Yuji vs. Yuta in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

Gojo being sealed inside the Prison Realm has severe repercussions, and it turned the Jujutsu society upside down. With Gojo out of the picture, the overseers of the Jujutsu Society immediately cancelled the suspension of Yuji’s execution and ordered the killing of Yuji Itadori. The executioner was none other than Yuta Okkotsu, who accepted the job to kill his fellow pupil as revealed at the end of JJK season 2. Following the deadly events of the Shibuya Incident, Yuta arrived at the destination with a mission to execute Yuji at the start of JJK Season 3. To make sure Itadori would end up dead, the higher officials made Yuta enter a binding vow to kill Yuji with them. As fate would have it, Yuta’s paths crossed with Yuji when Naoya Zenin confronted Itadori and his brother Choso. While Naoya took care of Choso, the inevitable battle between Yuji and Yuta began in episode 1.

Yuta Okkotsu Kills Yuji Itadori As Vowed Before

In case you don’t remember, Yuta was one of the rarest special grade sorcerers in the JJK series. Thus, Yuji was nowhere near his senior in terms of powers at this point. So, as one would expect, though Yuji tried his best, Yuta easily overwhelmed his junior in their fated battle. While we thought Yuta wouldn’t be able to bring himself to kill one of the people who was so close to his master, fate carved out a tragic end for Yuji. Yuta let Rika, the Queen of Curses, out and caught Yuji off guard. Without any hesitation, Yuta quickly stabbed Yuji’s heart with his sword and killed him. As a result, Yuta successfully carried out his mission and completed his binding vow with the higher-ups of the Jujutsu Society. It seemed like Yuji had already reached the end of the road when JJK Season 3 had just begun. But there is more to this confrontation than meets the eye. It turned out that Yuta wasn’t as bad as we initially thought him to be, as the sorcerer came up with a master plan to trick the higher-ups with his powers.

Yuta Brings Yuji Back to Life With His Reverse Cursed Technique

If you thought this was the end of the road for Yuji, it didn’t end here for him, although his senior just killed him. Just when Yuji’s heart was about to stop, Yuta quickly used his Reverse Cursed Technique and revived Yuji, whose life almost faded away. This was not the first time Yuji had gone to the brink of death, as Sukuna had done before then. When Yuji eventually woke up, Yuta finally told us the truth about why he had to kill Yuji, albeit for a short moment. In episode 2, Yuta remarked that Gojo Sensei visited him in Africa earlier with a request to protect his students if something ever happened to his life. Gojo was especially worried about Yuji’s status, so he asked Yuta to watch over him. As predicted, Gojo got sealed, and Yuji was left in a vulnerable position. Yuji was on the hunt to be executed now that Gojo wasn’t there to shield his student. Therefore, Yuta assumed the position of executioner before anyone stepped up to and put on an act of killing Yuji. Technically, he did kill Yuji, fulfilled his binding vow and tricked the higher-ups to protect Yuji. If it weren’t for Yuta, Yuji would have to go into hiding, and anything worse would have happened to him if other sorcerers came in hunting for him. However, Yuta saved Yuji’s life for now by secretly faking his death. Yuta and Yuji would eventually become one of the main players in the Culling Game next. That said, do you agree with Yuta’s idea to save Yuji’s life, or could he have done something better than this? Let us know in the comments below. Name Email ID
