Is Culling Game the Final Arc of JJK?
No! The Culling Game isn’t the last arc in Jujutsu Kaisen, but it is the penultimate arc of the series. JJK is a relatively short manga, consisting of only 11 arcs and 275 chapters in total. The first two seasons of the JJK anime have already covered up to 136 chapters, and there are 139 left to be adapted in the final seasons. Now, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is currently adapting the Culling Games along with Itadori’s Extermination arc and Perfect Preparation arc. The Culling Game will be the main focus of the ongoing season as it is the longest arc in the JJK series’ history. On the other hand, Itadori’s Extermination arc and Perfect Preparation arc are mini-arcs paving the way for the Culling Games to begin. With Kenjaku orchestrating a chaotic life-or-death game to accomplish his merger goal, one can feel that we have officially entered the endgame phase of the Jujutsu Kaisen series. What Is the Last Arc in JJK?
The Shinjuku Showdown arc is the final arc of JJK. As the title implies, the final battle between the jujutsu sorcerers and Sukuna takes center stage after the Culling Game arc. This arc will wrap up the long-awaited conflict between the sorcerers and the King of Curses, and the last few chapters will serve as the epilogue of the series.
Now this is the end of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. In 2025, Gege Akutami resurrected his magnum opus with a new spin-off titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, set in the same universe. Although this serves as a direct continuation of the JJK, the main series ended with the Shinjuku Showdown arc. You can start reading the JJK: Modulo manga to gain an in-depth understanding of the aftermath of the final battle and how it has reshaped the Jujutsu society in the future, even after decades.
Although JJK: Modulo may seem like a completely different story with the involvement of aliens, it is still a story about sorcerers. Many of the fan-favorite characters make cameo appearances, and some are even playing a significant role in the story at the moment.
But if you are only concerned about Gege’s first sorcerer work, then the Shinjuku Showdown arc marks the end of the JJK series. The JJK anime has reached the halfway mark, and completing the adaptation of the Culling Game in season 3 brings us close to the final saga of the series. Then, the potential Jujutsu Kaisen season 4 will adapt the Shinjuku Showdown arc sometime in the future.
That said, do you think the JJK anime will be able to give fans a better ending? Because, as everyone knows, the final saga of JJK was heavily rushed in the manga. Let us know in the comments below.
