Rogue is a versatile Vanguard in Marvel Rivals, meaning she’s not solely a frontline tank and brings more utility to the table. She deals DPS through swift combinations of punches and kicks that involve a bit of verticality to mix things up. The mutant can also manipulate Ultimates by slowing down the gauge build-up of enemies around her and briefly stealing stats based on their role.
Playing Rogue is all about knowing when to engage enemies, mastering her bread-and-butter combos, and most importantly, learning how to counter. This is especially important as she can absorb damage through her shield to gain more power, and if you time it right, deliver decimating combos in return.

Best Method to Play Rogue in Marvel Rivals
While her skill-stealing abilities will undoubtedly gather everyone’s attention, Rogue’s strength lies in her counter-attacking prowess. This is rooted in her shield, which is pretty weak for a tank, but it does power up your left click. The resulting punch doubles as a dash and can help you close the distance on enemies. Follow this up with the Chrono Kick Combo to launch an opponent in the air, where you can deliver another melee attack. Close this combo out by pressing E once again to knock them down, after which we recommend triggering Ability Absorption. With that said, you can alternatively remain in the brief flight mode and deliver two-ranged kicks to soften up targets. This should be your approach if you’re dealing with multiple enemies, as diving in these situations can be extremely costly. Another essential element of her kit is the Fatal Attraction dash, which has a wonderful bit of utility. On triggering, Rogue will charge forward, covering a distance of around 10 meters. If you press the button again, she will unleash a burst of Chronovium that pulls opponents in her direction while doing constant damage. This is great for crowd control since it lets you disrupt the enemy’s positioning. However, the dash doesn’t cover a lot of ground by itself, meaning it’s not the best option to get out of harm’s way. If you’re looking to cover maximum distance, use the dash and then combine it with a punch. In total, you’ll traverse about 15 meters in a given direction, which is essentially the best the Vanguard can manage. Moving on to her signature skill-stealing, the ability lets you borrow a rival’s power for a brief period, such as Hulk’s Gamma Burst, Strange’s shield, Hela’s stun orb, and many others. For the best results, you’ll need to unleash absorption on the correct enemy because you aren’t just stealing their skills, but also siphoning their stats. As a general rule, here are the stats bonuses you’ll receive for siphoning each Hero role:
Vanguard: Max Health Increase Duelist: Increased Damage Output Strategist: Improved Healing/Regen
While it can be tricky to target specific roles during the heat of battle, you’ll need to keep these baseline buffs in mind and pick the correct opponent for the game state. For instance, if you’re frontlining against a group of enemies, use your Ability Absorption on a Tank to improve survivability. If you’re separated from your team’s Support, target Strategists to help you self-sustain. And finally, if you’re looking to get some picks, siphon a Duelist to get some DPS boosts. Her Ultimate, Heartbreaker, is an obvious counter-Ultimate as it activates an AoE that continuously deteriorates the enemy’s gauge while also siphoning stats. It’s best used while your team is trying to claim the objective, as it instantly denies your opponents the chance to pull off their game-changing Ults. No matter the situation, you should always aim to combine it with Fatal Attraction, since the dash will pull all your rivals in proximity, allowing the AoE to have maximum effect. If done right, you’ll be able to delete squads thanks to all the stat gains.

For all of Rogue’s versatility as a Vanguard, she is extremely susceptible to being crowd-controlled. Her kit is not high on mobility, with the sole dash covering relatively modest ground while also having a lengthy countdown.
