After over a decade, the core Divinity franchise is set to return as Larian reveals a brand new Divinity trailer at The Game Awards. Even though they have released multiple games in the Divinity franchise, this would be their first game titled ‘Divinity.’ Excited? Here is everything we know about it, including possible release windows and gameplay details.
Divinity Release Date and Platforms
Larian Studios hasn’t announced a release date or window for Divinity yet, giving the indication that the game is still in early development. Seeing previous trends, Divinity will likely first release in early access, and after a couple of years of community feedback, the game will be finally released. Our guess is that the game will go into early access sometime in early 2027. For platforms, I expect Divinity to release on PC and all major consoles, with a likely exception of Nintendo Switch 2. However, this is more of an educated guess based on previous trends than concrete information.
Everything We Know About Divinity
Divinity is dubbed as the most ambitious project of Larian Studios, with the developers promising to deliver their biggest adventure yet to their beloved fans. This new title will be an RPG with “greater breadth & depth than ever before.” Divinity will be a brand new game that doesn’t require experience with previous Larian titles, but shares the world with the Divinity: Original Sin series. The Divinity TGA trailer showcases a dystopian world where some people are celebrating on one side, while others are being punished or burned alive. The showcase is a classic from Larian Studios, perfectly putting its mark on gamers and etching the name in our minds. The Game Awards Desert statue was also a tease for Divinity, which we had guessed correctly in our The Game Awards 2025 predictions. So far, we know very little about Divinity’s gameplay, other than it being an RPG. With Larian’s recent success being in the CRPG genre, it is hard to see them delve into anything else. However, there is a chance that Larian Studios may return to their third-person open-world action-adventure as they did with Divinity II. If it does, then be ready to get blown away completely, especially if they bring back the Dragon transformation that I dearly loved in the decade-old title. Whether Larian Studios makes an action RPG or a CRPG, there won’t be a question about the game’s quality. And with how Larian Studios are known to break the mold, they may just make the first game with action, turn-based, and real-time tactical combat modes all together. So, what’s your opinion on Divinity, and which direction do you think Larian Studios plans to take with the game? Let us know in the comments. Name Email ID
